Ombersley Court: Lord & Lady Sandy Collection

This November, Christie's will offer Ombersley Court: The Collection of Lord and Lady Sandys — a historic collection telling the story of an English aristocratic family spanning five centuries. Most of the works were acquired or commissioned over a period of 450 years and remained at Ombersley Court until the sale of the house in 2017. Over 200 items from the collection are being offered for sale, including Old Master paintings, furniture, silver, Asian art and militaria. One of the highlights of the sale is a group of naval scenes by Willem van de Velde and Studio, which have been with the family since the late 17th century. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Sandys Trust, a charity committed to supporting the varied charitable interests of the late Lord and Lady Sandys. .
